WORTHY IS THE LAMB

by

Laura Christian

A polished shaft was I
Awaiting you to shoot
Into the center of your will
To make a clear bullseye.

You worked on this vessel of clay
I was changed before your eyes
As you molded me and made
Yourself to be glorified.

I leave my life behind
As you lead me to parts unknown
Lead me on my gentle Savior
Although I am but blind.

I have no other hope
But yours, you have for me
I will not fear or cleave
To my own realities.

I anxiously await
The dawn of your brilliant new day
All things will be sorted out
And made plain, as you have your way.

Keep me in your mercy
Pardon my each fall
Hold not your bowels of compassion
Let them flow out all.

Hold me close to your dear breast
Remember I'm your child
That you bought at Calvary
With your own Son tender and mild.

I know I fail you often
But look at the blood alone
And change me to your image
As for all my sins atone.

Release me in your freedom
Lead me in your joy
Fill me with the bread of heaven
So I won't be Satan's toy.

Break in pieces chains that bind me
Both me in your love
Heal me with your oil
Annoint me with your Dove.

You alone are worthy
You we glorify
We settle down to rest our souls
And shout to you on high!
